Celebrating its 13th Year, Denton Black Film Festival 2027 Reveals First Highlights as Early Access Pass Sales Open

Questlove’s Earth, Wind & Fire doc, a 35th-anniversary screening of Spike Lee’s Malcolm X and Brandon Collins’ Drunk Black History lead the first preview

DENTON, TX, UNITED STATES, November 3, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — DALLAS, Texas, Nov. 3, 2026 — The Denton Black Film Festival, celebrating its 13th year with its “Together We Make” theme, is inviting you to take advantage of limited-time offer to purchase an Early Access Pass so you can start planning now for one of the region’s must-attend cultural events of the year.

Your pass will allow you enjoy the full big-screen theatrical experience to watch a Questlove-directed look at Earth, Wind & Fire; a 35th-anniversary celebration of Spike Lee’s Malcolm X and a Black film history served with laughs by Brandon Collins.

Returning January 27–31 for its 13th annual celebration, DBFF invites longtime passholders to make plans early and bring someone new. The Early Access Pass will allow you to capture five days of film, music, comedy and creative exchange, with additional screenings, performances and learning opportunities that will be announced throughout the fall. Why secure your pass early? Here’s two reasons: 1) Secure your pass early and start planning your festival experience before the full schedule is released, and 2) Give yourself more time to explore our busy schedule so you’ll have plenty of time to review films, events, and reservation requirements.

“We’re looking forward to elevating DBFF to even higher heights,” said Harry Eaddy, one of the festival’s co-founders. “The 2027 festival is featuring films and activities that are designed to appeal to anyone who is looking forward to immersing themselves in great film, music, comedy, art, and connecting with filmmakers and creatives. Most of all, we’re sure you’re going to have lots of fun.”

For returning fans, the message is simple: get your festival plans on the calendar and invite the friend who has been meaning to join you.
For first-time attendees, this is an early look at the stories and experiences coming to Denton in January.

You also won’t want to miss the DBFF Institute workshops and panels that offer filmmakers and other creatives the opportunity to learn, engage and network.

Early Access pricing for VIP Experience and Film Experience passes ends November 6. Advance Pass sales for DBFF 2027 begin November 7, with all festival pass types available for purchase. The full festival schedule and individual event tickets will be available in mid-December. Secure your passes today here: https://bit.ly/dbff27-earlyaccess.
